Why You Should Choose Jones
Jones Construction knows that the most important home that we will ever build is yours! We never forget that although we are building a home for you, it has our name on it. This demonstrates an enourmous amount of trust on the part of our customers.
We build each and every home as if it were out own, and treat each customer as we would want to be treated
Everything's Included
Everything's Included is our creedo, and enables us to provide you with the best possible features as standard in your new home (while other builders charge thousands of dollars for the same features). We research what homeowners really want in a home and include those features as standard in our construction. Our goal is to give the you more without charging you more.
If you really want to appreciate the value of our Everything's Included homes, come take a tour at our model home in Mesa Grande Estates. As you look around you'll see our standards would add up to thousands of additional dollars by another builder. You'll quickly realize that with an Everything's Included home you'll end up saving frustration, time, and money.
When Choosing a Builder
When looking for a home, ask your building what's standard and what's and upgrade. If there's a particular feature that you'd like in your home, ask your builder what costs are involved in upgrading. Click here to see our standard features.
Carefully compare, item by item, what is being proposed in the homeplan. If there's a large difference in price between similar homes, find out why.
What materials are being used in the construction?
- Is it 2x4 or 2x6 exterior construction?
- We build using the more energy-efficient 2x6 construction. We can also build a SIP (structural insulated panel) home for even more energy efficiency.
What type of insulation is proposed, and what's the R-Value?
- Insulation is one of the most important items in a home
- A home that has the minimum R-13 in exterior walls and R-30 in ceilings will cost the homeowner thousands of dollars in the long run
- If your builder chooses to use only the minimum requirements in insulating your home, what else are they willing to cut corers on?
- Our homes have a minimum R-21 in exterior walls and R-38 in the ceiling of heated areas
- For more information on insulation, check the Department of Energy Insulation Fact Sheet
- For insulation recommendations based on Zip Code, check the Department of Energy Zip Code Insulation Calculator
Does the builder use insulated windows, and if so, what kind?
- Windows are an important part of insulating a home
- Quality Low E windows should come standard in a home, not as an option
- Jones Construction uses Dual Pane Low E windows
- For more information on energy-efficient windows, go to the EPA Energy Star "Anatomy of an Energy Efficient Window".
With today's high energy costs, a properly insulated home wil save its owner thousands of dollars a year. Existing and new homes account for 40% of all energy usage in the United States. Jones Construction is dedicated to building energy-efficient homes. We are Energy Star Partners with the EPA.
During your interviews, ask if the builder has ever used another name for their company. If they have, learn what the former name was and check both with the New Mexico Better Business Bureau (BBB). Jones Construction has a "AAA" BBB rating.
When choosing a floor plan, ask your builder if you're able to make alterations to suit your tastes and needs. Building a new home should reflect the tastes and desires of the homeowner, not the builder. Jones Construction gives you the ability to alter floorplans to suit your needs.
